After a three-week pause brought on by weather disruptions and scheduling conflicts, live music officially returned to Janesville as the popular “Songs in the Park” series made its long-awaited comeback.
Community members gathered to welcome back local musical act ATA Duo (Another Time Around). A standout crowd favorite from last year’s series, the duo delivered another energetic performance that had attendees singing and clapping along throughout the evening.
Alongside the live soundtrack, food truck vendor TNT Eats was parked on site, serving up hot BBQ and local favorite comfort food to concertgoers.
The event featured an adjusted schedule, running from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The shifted timeline paired seamlessly with the Janesville Farmer’s Market, which operated from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., allowing residents to shop for fresh local produce and artisan goods before settling into their lawn chairs for the show.
Despite a scorching, molten hot September afternoon, competing back-to-school sports and activities, and the lingering momentum loss from recent event cancellations, a resilient crowd turned out to support the town tradition. For Janesville locals, the enthusiastic turnout proved once again that great music, good food, and community spirit can overcome even the hottest late-summer heat.
