It was an elegant night worthy of admiration and a thousand photo opportunities as St. Clair hosted its annual prom on May 2. Under the whimsical theme of Enchanted Garden, the evening blossomed into a celebration of mystique, beauty, and high-school camaraderie.
The festivities began with the highly anticipated Grand March, where 53 couples took to the stage. The event offered a mosaic of high school life: moments of formal ceremony, the quiet excitement of budding love, and the occasional burst of cantankerous hijinks among groups of lifelong friends.
Dazzling dresses in a kaleidoscope of colors and fabrics swept across the stage, while the majority of the male counterparts opted for the timeless sophistication of the traditional suit and tie. However, a trio of Cyclones decided to lean into the theatrical. Donning wide velvet fedoras with brightly colored lapels, the group strutted to the stage with canes in hand, posing with a swagger that delighted the audience. Beyond the standard couple portraits, students let their personalities shine. Groups of friends posed as secret agents, ladies draped themselves in their dates’ suit jackets, and a spirited group of junior boys struck the iconic Heisman pose. To cap off the ceremony, the junior and senior classes gathered for collective photos, symbolizing a year defined by glamour and unity.
For the parents in attendance, the evening was one of deep emotion. Many beamed with pride—and a few wiped away tears—as they watched their senior sons and daughters traverse the prom stage for one final time, marking a significant milestone in their journey toward graduation.
Once the formal walk concluded, the Cyclones traveled to The Barn for a night of high-energy dancing and activities. The celebration continued well into the early morning hours with after-prom, concluding an exhausting but exhilarating day filled with the kind of memories that stay with a class for a lifetime.
