Throughout the entire week of March 4-8, Trinity Lutheran School celebrated Lutheran Schools Week. The brunch and silent auction on Sunday, March 3, was a kickoff for all the events.
Trinity will celebrate the week with dress-up days and plenty of activities. For Monday, March 4, the theme was “God’s love is big!” Students dressed up in neon to glow for the week. An opening skit was presented to the students and staff at 8:45 a.m. that morning, and the activity for the day was the “Live the Light” themed art competition
Tuesday, March 5, featured the theme, “God’s love is big, and He knows each of us.” The art competition continued while the spirit dress-up “Wacky Hair and Wear.”
For Wednesday, the students dressed in jerseys to support their favorite team. The theme for the day was, “God’s love is big, and we’re part of His family.” The daily activity was a chapel family project (help a Mongolian family stem project).
Thursday’s dress-up theme was be pajama day, while the overall theme is, “God’s love is big, and we can trust Him.” The light-themed art competition will go on for another day. Thursday will bring with it a school challenge. Students are encouraged to bring $1 to help purchase shoe racks for Garuna Christian School in Cambodia. Their reward is the privilege of wearing socks or slippers in the classroom.
Friday’s theme was “God’s love is big, so we can celebrate.” The dress-up theme will be whatever students’ favorite holiday is. Plenty of activities will take place, including the conclusion of the “Live the Light” art competition. From 7-8:20 a.m., “Donuts for Dudes” took place at the Trinity Lutheran Church Discipling Center, with a spelling bee at the school at 9 a.m. The school concluded Lutheran Schools Week with a closing program in the gym at 2:40 p.m.
