
James Warren (Abe) Abraham, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. A devoted Veteran of the United States Army and Navy, Abe’s other titles include being a phenomenal and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Abe was born on August 17, 1947, to Warren G. “Bud” Abraham and Marjorie Linde Abraham, being one of five children of Bud and Marjorie Abraham of Janesville, MN.
Abe married Diane Faye Winters on October 21, 1968, and welcomed two daughters, Tina Marie in 1969, and Tori Danielle in 1973. During his honorable and heavily decorated years serving with the United States Army from 1969 (Vietnam War) and serving with the Navy through 1992, Abe traveled and resided in Vietnam, Germany, California, and the east coast states of North Carolina, and Georgia.
Abe and Diane legally separated in 1978, and finalized their divorce in August 1994.
Abe was an avid sports fan during his lifetime, from the Minnesota Vikings to the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Minnesota Twins, and enjoyed “March Madness” to the very end. Abe was sensitive, loving, and a wonderful cook, just like his mother, and an avid fan of a cold brew and the company of friends and family.
During his years of service, he was an honorable Military and Naval Justice law clerk. Abe had an infectious laugh and charming sense of humor and was generous with everyone around him. His love ran deep for his family.
Abe was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Marjorie Abraham, brother, Jeffrey
Abraham, and sister, Janice Rux.
He is survived by his daughters Tina Marie Johnson (Aaron) and Tori Danielle Abraham, and grandson, Eli L. Johnson, along with his loving wife Deborah Abraham, Deborah’s daughters, Denise Bartlett and Christie Cooper (James); grandchildren, Morgan Summers, Zach Summers, Christian Cooper, Gerad Bartlett, Conner Cooper; and great granddaughter Makenna Cox, and including his beloved sister, Judith Thornton (Jerry) of Janesville, Minnesota, and brother, Jerry Abraham of Little Falls, Minnesota.
