The St. Clair Cyclones golf team hosted a home meet at Terrace View Golf Course on Thursday April 18th. This is the teams second meet of the season. On April 9th, the Girls’ team took first place in Madelia. Rachel Ammann, junior, took first in the individual ranking, scoring 49 overall; Celia Johnson, freshman, placed third with 55 overall. Their Tuesday meet was postponed, so the Cyclones had over a week of prep time before their home game.
JJ Cumberland, freshman started the day as the fifth seed. His teammates and himself were up against Lake Crystal, Martin, and GHEC. Cumberland’s drive took the ball close to the edge of play, but his next shot brought it right on the green. He made a fairly long put for his fourth shot, and took Par on Hole 5. Cumberland shot 54 overall for the day. The Cyclones boys golf team took third.
Clara Jeddeloh, a sophomore who placed 6th at the first meet, had a good drive to start Hole 6, her fourth round of the competition. One shot took the ball askew, but Jeddeloh was able to get the ball on the green soon after. She finished the Hole over Par. Jeddeloh had a good day overall, scoring 55 and finishing in second place, just behind Ammann who scored 54 for first place. The St. Clair girls golf team finished in first place.
