Daulton Bauer and Ellie Morsching were crowned Snow King and Queen 2026. Monday’s coronation kicked off what will be a fun-filled week of wintery joy at JWP.
The winter chill was no match for the heat of Bulldog pride Monday, January 12th as Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (JWP) officially kicked off its annual Snow Week. The coronation ceremony, held in a packed school auditorium, served as the grand opening for a week dedicated to school spirit, community support, and—of course—plenty of curious clothed Bulldogs.
The event was presided over by emcees Rachelle Oelke and Tyson Johnson, who welcomed a boisterous crowd of students, staff, and proud parents. Organized by the Student Council and their advisors, with a helping hand from local supporters, the ceremony set a high bar for the festivities to come.
Though their role was miniscule compared to the big kids, the introduction of the adorably young Bulldog crown bearers, Reece Sonnek and Cam Luedtke, stole hearts as they made their way down the aisle. They were followed by the formal introduction of this year’s Snow Week candidates.
As each candidate was introduced, the audience got a glimpse into their lives through a series of fun facts. Students shared everything from their favorite JWP teachers and subjects to their most cherished school memories. Ambitions for life after graduation were high, but the crowd especially enjoyed hearing the candidates’ “go-to” activities during snow days. One recurring highlight from the biographies was a certain student named Rocco, who, based on the candidate stories, seems to be the life of every party.
This year featured a brand-new addition to the royal tradition: the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Snow Angel. In a creative twist, each candidate was tasked with making their own personalized “snow angel” with a popular vote determining the winners. Aubrey Adams and Travyn Shoultz took home the inaugural honors, being recognized for their artistic flair and school spirit.
The tension in the auditorium reached its peak as the candidates anticipated the crowning of Snow King and Queen. Despite some fanfare and some thunderous applause, the official act of crowning the winner lacked a certain ceremonial punch, but upon Daulton Bauer and Ellie Morsching receiving the honor, they couldn’t help but beam with Bulldog pride at being named royalty for the rest of the week as Snow King and Queen.
With the crowns placed and school spirit ignited, JWP is ready to tackle Snow Week with unmatched energy. Whether it’s dressing up for themed clothing days or cheering from the stands during Friday’s pepfest, it’s going to be a great week to be a Bulldog.
