JOHN RICHARD SANDBERG, age 60, of Bloomington, died on July 1, 2024, at his residence.
Born on November 15, 1963, in Mankato, he was the son of Richard and Ann (Boyer) Sandberg. John grew up in Waseca where he attended Waseca Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1982. John continued his education at St. Thomas University and the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. In 1998, John was united in marriage to Tracy Anderson and together they had two children and were later divorced. John worked in the insurance industry for most of his life, first for State Farm and later for AAA. He loved music and could play almost any instrument. He was especially accomplished at playing the piano. John also loved gardening and spending time outdoors. He will be remembered for his creative and artistic abilities in anything he accomplished. John is survived by his children: Jack Sandberg and Ruth Sandberg; mom, Ann Sandberg; sisters, Sara (Tim Togstad) Sandberg and Lisa Sandberg; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his father and nephew, Colin Donahue.
A Gathering of Family and Friends was from 3:00 – 6:00 PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service. Private Family interment took place at St. Ann Cemetery in Janesville.
