
ARDIE FREEMAN SCHWEIM, age 90, of Janesville passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Born on August 21, 1933 in Mankato, Ardie was the son of Louis and Dorothea (Geiger) Schweim. He served his country in the US Army during 1954-1956. Ardie met the love of his life, Barbara Ziegler at the Kato Ballroom. They were united in marriage at the Rapidan Church on August 20, 1960. Together they made their home on the farm outside of Janesville while raising their three children. Ardie was a lifelong farmer. Even after his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and tending to things. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Ardie is survived by his children, Todd Schweim of Mankato; Janelle (Don) Harms of Crystal, and Troy Schweim of Janesville; grandchildren, Brittany (Matthew) Lindroth, Tyler Schweim, Max Harms, Piper Harms, Beth Dallenbach, Ashley Schweim; great grandchildren, Stella and Ezra; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings.
Funeral service was at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Visitation was held two hours prior to the service at the church. A burial followed at Smith’s Mill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran School in Janesville.
